On Tuesday, Sept. 15, Mrs. Corley’s Baking and Pastry 1 class held their first “Cupcake Wars” of the year. Students worked in teams and put their baking skills to the test. The teams’ creations were judged based on appearance and taste. The theme was “Cartoons,” therefore, “appearance” was judged in that category. Judges (a.k.a. hungry teachers) were treated to samples of each of the cupcakes and gave their evaluations.
Team One was voted to be the winner. Their vanilla Olaf-themed cupcakes were not only voted best in design, but also best in taste.

Runner-up was Team Two with their pineapple-cream cheese Bikini Bottom-themed cupcakes. The dipped strawberries were a scrumptious addition.

Congratulations to all the competitors! Baking under pressure is no easy task, and all of the cupcakes were delicious, even though not all could be the winner.

“Tangled” -themed cupcakes.

“Finding Nemo” – themed cupcakes.

“Spiderweb” cupcakes. The team ran out of time before they could draw the spiderwebs.
