FFA Places Third in SE Regionals

By Brynna Owens

On Oct. 1st, ACHS placed third at SE Regionals for Land Judging. Listed from left to right are Rayna Kulhman, Brytol Barnes, Raelynn Morrison, Cheyenne Sears, and Brooke Kent.

According to the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), land judging is when students look at the soil pits to understand the soil, the depth of the topsoil, the presence of different soil horizons and the texture or color of the soil. The land judging hole is usually 40 inches deep. Land judging teaches FFA members how to evaluate soil and understand land use.
