The holiday season is all about giving, and while everyone’s idea of the perfect gift is different, each present holds its own meaning. To see what gifts stood out this year, several students were asked the question: “What’s your favorite Christmas gift, and why?”
Ashlyn Nelson said her favorite gift was a cruise to the Bahamas, which allowed her to meet new people and experience things she had never tried before. For Camden Bettinger, however, the best gift was much simpler—a rice cooker. When asked why, he replied, “’Cause I like rice, duh?”
Every year, students ask for a wide range of gifts. Sometimes it’s a big or exciting present, and other times it’s something small or handmade that ends up meaning the most. Both types of gifts can be equally special. Maliah Velvick shared that her favorite presents were a Kendra Scott necklace and a Needoh cube because she had been wanting them for a long time.
In the end, the most meaningful Christmas gifts aren’t always the most expensive. They are the ones that show thoughtfulness and understanding. More than anything, the true spirit of Christmas comes from love and the simple act of making someone feel special.
