New Year’s Eve Midnight Moments

By Kaylee Scheckel

When it comes to celebrating New Year’s Eve in Garnett, there’s not a whole lot of different ways to do it. However, I managed to get a snapshot of how a few students celebrated. I asked questions like where they went, what they did, who was there, and how late they stayed up. Here’s what they told me:

Freshman Hayleigh Spears said that she went to Morgan Gooding’s house for a sleepover with Lilly Beaudry, Meagan Gooding, and Skylar Salazar. They played video games, hung out, and took a walk.

Sophomore Kaylee Kummer said that she went to a party at Maddie Reichard’s house. She also said that Emily Sobba was there as well, and everybody stayed up untill 1:00 a.m. playing card games and watching movies until they fell asleep.

Freshman Gunner Grosdidier said he had a small hangout with his family and “they ate food and just hung out as a family until 2:00 in the morning.”

Overall, there aren’t a lot of different options to celebrate the new year. However, these few people made the best of it by hanging out with friends and family and upholding the tradition of staying up past midnight.  Hopefully, they continue these traditions for years to come.
