The week of March 13 through March 20 marked spring break for Anderson County High School. Students and staff took advantage of the time off in a variety of ways, from traveling across the country to spending time with family.
Junior Rylee Hill spent her break in Texas with her family, visiting cities such as Arlington, Dallas, and Fort Worth. Along the way, they explored several attractions, including the zoo, aquarium, and a local children’s museum. Each day started with breakfast at Huckleberries and ended with classic Texas barbecue, featuring homestyle ribs.
On the staff side, Mrs. Martin used her break to visit her son, Garrison, a member of the class of 2023, who now attends Cedarville Christian College in Cedarville, Ohio. She took a road trip totaling 1,699 miles to watch him play baseball. While a relaxing week at home might have been easier, Mrs. Martin said the opportunity to see her son play was more than worth the trip.
Meanwhile, juniors Brooklyn Kellerman and Maggie Self traveled to Florida, where they enjoyed a wide range of activities. They spent time at the beach, where they ended up with some noticeable sunburns, hoping they would eventually turn into tans. To cool off, they visited Baytowne Wharf, an outdoor entertainment center. After busy days at the beach and exploring, they also made time for a trip to the outlet mall. Their vacation included plenty of good food, from quick beach snacks to sit-down meals.
From road trips to beach days, Anderson County students and staff made the most of their spring break with memorable experiences across the country.
