Day in the Life of Students

By Paisley Clinton and Karlie Feuerborn

From early alarms to late nights on their phones, students stay busy all day long. Between school, sports, jobs, and responsibilities at home, their routines can be packed and sometimes exhausting. Even though every student’s day looks a little different, they all have to balance a lot.

Senior Lizzy Farrar starts her day at 5 a.m. She gets up, takes a shower, and does her hair and makeup before heading to school. During the day, she goes to eight classes and has a lunch period. After school, she heads straight to work at DQ, where she works close to seven hours a day, five days a week. When she gets home, she showers, goes through her nightly routine, scrolls on her phone, and eventually falls asleep.

Sophomore Shelby O’Connor says her mornings start off rough, feeling tired and not wanting to get up for school. Once she finally gets moving, she picks out her clothes, gets dressed, and brushes her hair. She then spends about eight hours at school. After school, she goes to softball practice until around 5:30 p.m. When she gets home, she does her chores, takes a shower, and goes to bed. This is her routine most days of the week.

Sophomore Kamrie Feuerborn also starts her day tired but still gets up and going. She gets ready, eats breakfast, and takes care of her animals, including horses, dogs, and cats. After that, she goes outside to start her truck, which sometimes takes quite a few tries. Then she drives to school, where she spends the day in class before heading to softball practice. When she gets home, she rides her horses, showers, eats dinner, and winds down by scrolling on her phone before going to sleep.
