Teacher’s Thoughts On Gen Z Slang Terms

By Paisley Clinton and Karlie Feuerborn

Teachers can have a reputation for not exactly being “with it” (if you catch our drift!). However, when we asked six teachers to try to define some common Gen Z terms, we were surprised to find that they weren’t as out of the loop as we thought!

Mr. Smith was given the word “Crashout,” and he said it means when something doesn’t go your way, and you get really mad. Correct!

Mrs. Meyer was given the word “ragebait,” and she said that it meant trying to egg someone on to make them mad. She’s also correct.

Mrs. Velvick was given the word “Chopped,” and she said that it meant really bad or messed up. Also synonymous with being ugly.

Mrs.Goetz was given the word “Delulu,” and she said that it meant crazy or delirious.

Mr.Gillespie was given the word “Caught in 4k,” and he said that it meant “caught in the act.”

Mrs.Sigel was given the word “Brain Rot,” and she said that it means videos you look at that make you dumber than you were before you looked at it.

It turns out that ACHS teachers are spot on Gen Z slang! Now we have to come up with some new terms …
