Golfers Push Through Rough Weather at Paola Tournament

By Landon Totten

On April 13, the golf team competed in an intense tournament in Paola. Golf is a sport where players try to hit a ball into a hole in as few strokes as possible. It’s a simple concept, but the competition can get serious fast. This tournament was even more challenging because of storms, strong winds, and the threat of tornadoes.

Team members Caiden Fisher and Cayden Davis said they still had a great time despite the tough conditions. Both athletes said their favorite part of the tournament was meeting new people. When asked if they could have performed better, they agreed there’s always room to improve, with Fisher adding that he sees a lot of growth potential.

The weather definitely made things harder. Both players said the wind and storms affected how they played, but they didn’t let it ruin the experience.

Overall, the team had a positive experience at the tournament. They felt good about their performance but are already looking ahead and working to improve for the next meet.
